Unpacking and Installation Instructions
Unpacking your hangar
1) Locate open area to unpackage your hangar, preferably carpeted, or use rug, blanket, or towel of appropriate size. 2) End marked "Open here" contains gloves, instructions, template and mounting screws. 3) Use gloves to remove hangar from box, remove packing material. 4) Hangars are shipped with mounting uprights (legs) folded flat to the inside. 5) With hangar laying with "This side down" label against floor, grasp each leg at flange and pull up 90 degrees into the vertical position. 6) Use template to check exact position, layout template and place hangar over marks to verify positions. 7) Now you are ready to begin to think about and plan your installation.

Hangars are built to be secure solid structures. We however, cannot control how they are used after we ship them. Please follow instructions regarding mounting units to solid wooden structures. We want you to enjoy our products, not wear them along with your kitchen utensils.

DO NOT hang children, livestock, diesel engines or yourself from our hangars.
Hangar wt. (including hooks) 2X4 = 20 lbs. 2X2 = 11 lbs. 2X1 = 10 lbs. Optional rack units = ½ lbs.
Maximum weight to be suspended from hangars shall be 75 lbs. or less. Our hangar are built to handle stress from loads 3 times this, but the mounting screws and wooden structures may not support this stress, so please observe limits stated. Loads shall be distributed (balanced) around hangar. Maximum weight for rack units shall be 15 lbs. or less.

Hangar must be solidly secured to solid "good" wood structure. This includes structural wood beams, enclosed beams, and 2X4 or 2X6 ceiling joist. Not to sheet rock. Only through sheet rock to solid wood support members.
Tools required You will need: Pencil or other marking device Hammer Punch or nail Drill bit xxxxxxxxxxxx Drill motor #3 Phillips screw driver
Installing your hangar 1) Define mounting location, with deliberation on the integrity of mounting structure. 2) It may be necessary to add structural supports depending on your actual conditions, location, orientation of existing ceiling joist, etc. You may require professional assistance for the installation if you do not feel comfortable with structural integrity of the proposed location. 3) Locate the centerline(s) of the mount point in each direction. Long centerline is critical, this is the direction along which the four (4) mounting screws attach. Mark center line at least 15" from center point on both sides. This will allow alignment of template. Short centerline is reference point between both uprights (legs) 4) Use template to locate mounting screw holes, by aligning center points in the center of the template and at the ends. 5) Mark holes with center punch or nail, drill pilot hole for screws.
